National Cooperative Housing Federation of India (NCHF),

b. Functions & Duties
- To promote cooperative housing in the country and to coordinate and facilitate the operations of member organisations and housing cooperatives.
- To organize cooperative education, training and information programmes.
- To organize conferences/seminars/workshops
- To undertake research studies and to bring out various publications
- To provide guidance on general insurance, organization, management, legal aspects, etc.
- To undertake such other activities as are conducive or incidental to the attainment of the objectives of NCHF. |

2. The powers and duties of officers and employees.
The powers and functions (duties) of the Chairman and the Chief Executive of the NCHF are laid down in the Bye-laws of NCHF (available on the website). The Chief Executive exercise control over the staff of NCHF.

| 3. The procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability |
1. General Body
Presided over by the Chairman. Each member institution (except nominal members) is represented by one delegate elected/nominated to the General Body by member institution. General Body is the ultimate authority in all matters related to the administration of NCHF.
2. Board of Directors
Presided over by the Chairman. The Board consists of 19 elected directors from member institutions, 2 nominees of the Central Government, one representative each of Life Insurance Corporation of India and the National Housing Bank, and the Chief Executive, NCHF.
3. Executive Committee
Headed by the Chairman and consists of seven members including one representative of the Government of India.
4. Chairman
Presides over all meetings. Spokesman of policy of NCHF. Competent to take decisions of urgent and emergent nature effecting the policy of the NCHF.
5. Chief Executive
Handling day-to-day affairs. |
